I.Khái niệm:

• Because và because of là hai cụm trạng từ chỉ lý do cho một sự việc nào đó.
• Mang ý nghĩa "bởi vì"

Ví dụ:

I will not going out because it's raining.

I will not going out because of the rain.

II. Cách sử dụng Because và Because of

• Because: Because thường đi với một mệnh đề hoàn chỉnh (clause), có đầy đủ chủ ngữ (subject), động từ (verb), (tân ngữ không bắt buộc):

Because + S + V + (O).

Ví dụ:

I don't like her because she is mean and arrogant.

Her key was lost because her children had dropped it on the road.

I like this picture because it's beautiful.

She could only eat a salad in the restaurant because she is a vegetarian

• Because of: Đi với một đại từ (pronoun),  danh từ (Noun) hoặc cụm danh từ (Noun phrase):

Because of + pro (noun)/ noun phrase

Ví dụ:

He has an accident because of his carelessness.

They moved to Liverpool because of her job.

Minh went to the party yesterday because of his girlfriend's invitation.

III. Một vài lưu ý khi sử dụng Because và because of:

Cấu trúc của because và because of không thể sử dụng để thay thế cho nhau

Ví dụ:

He got sick because of he had walked in the rain.

-> He got sick because he had walked in the rain

My father didn't go to work yesterday because his backache 

My father didn't go to work yesterday because of his backache.
